Mixtape Review: Breaking Down Never Coming Down

I've heard it be explained that once you reach a certain level, there is no turning back.  With that being said, it is safe to assume that A.N.T.'s mixtape "Never Coming Down" is his way of saying the same thing.  Everything about this 17 track mixtape displays the Grand Rapids native  setting the bar higher, not only for himself, but for EVERY artist in the area.  If you get nothing good from the mixtape and the movement made along with it, you are choosing not to pay attention.

Features: A.N.T. stayed true to the statement he made in his interview with the GoodLifeCampaign months ago.  It is not just about him.  How many artists in the area do you see drop mixtapes for exposure??  Of course, that's what you are supposed to do right??  How many of those same artists do you see have 14 other artists also on the same mixtape??  Along with having another GR native DJ Kokaine host the mixtape, it is something the City of Grand Rapids can be proud of.   Artists on the mixtape are: Reality, Kwase, Torrey Carter, Sarge the Dame, E Dub, Boss Ruff, Nych G, Bub Bentley Billionair, C.T. Solo, Elevate, Moe Money McCoy, Six Sense, Spellca$ta and Neighborhood Kid.

Tour: Along with the release of the mixtape, came the Never Coming Down College Tour.  A.N.T. went on tour promoting his mixtape around various colleges and universities throughout the south, midwest, and the east coast.  A.N.T. went All In(Track 16) with the tour, from the show to the transportation.  Just like the actual mixtape, ANT brought the city along with on the tour.  Artist Bub Bentley Billionair, CT Solo, E Dub, Neighborhood Kid, and DJ Dean Martian also assisted in exposing various regions to the Mighty Mitten, specifically Grand Rapids.  This area is full of great talent, and it is a great thing to see other areas starting to take notice.  It was also great to see them tour in style.  Please check the pics and videos below for more detail.

Videos:  If you seen any of A.N.T.'s videos, you know he goes the extra mile to make them great.  The videos for the songs highlighted on the mixtape is no different.  Staying true to the mixtape theme, he shot both videos in Grand Rapids.  Look below to see both of the videos from tracks off the mixtape.

Workout Playlist Worthy:  Never Coming Down(Track 2), Going Going Gone feat. Kwase(Track 5), Everyway feat Spellca$ta, Neighborhood Kid, and E-Dub(Track 17)

Fun Track: Now Ya Know Feat Elevate and Moe Money McCoy(Track 13)

Magic City Ready: Drop It Feat. Bub Bentley Billionair and CT Solo(Track 11)

Nothing about this mixtape was done half-assed.  There is a song that meets your tastes whatever that maybe.  There is a good blend of a few original tracks and mixtape freestyles that makes it easier for the casual listener too.  Nothing like seeing what artists can do with established industry beats.  The movement along with the mixtape did help out also.  From the Mixtape to the Tour, everything was done in a manner that almost everyone can appreciate.  Truly a testament of an artist believing fully in his work and more importantly putting everything in it(monetarily and otherwise).  How can you feel like you can garner attention for a deal if you are scared to invest in yourself and your own movement??  Not sure if there is an actual blueprint for independent artists to follow, but it wouldn't hurt to sit down with A.N.T. and pick his brain to see what things have worked and what won't.  You would be lying to say he hasn't figured out a few things.  Download Never Coming Down if you don't have a copy!

What's up GoodLifers! We are back with another album review, and personal I have been waiting months for this to drop. 2 Chainz (AKA Tity Boi) has released his debut solo album, "Based on A T.R.U Story." This album is full of bangers, with the hit "No Lie" feat. Drake and " Birthday Song" feat. Kanye West. The album goes hard and if you are looking for a good CD to dance or to workout to, this album would be a great fit. With over a 100,000 units moved in the first week, it looks like 2 Chainz may have a solid career in the rap game. Make sure you go out and buy 2 Chainz debut album "Based On A T.R.U Story"

The Life of a Mack: MC Lil Mack talks Hip Hop, Unity, and Grand Rapids!

Here at the GoodLifeCampaign we are closing in on our First Anniversary!!  It is very exciting because in a short year we have been able to meet so many great artists and people.  It is truly a blessing to be able to go to shows, listen to music and write about it.  I have always loved Hip Hop because of the expression, and now as a team we are able to consume as much as we can, and write it off in taxes!!!  Only in America!! Where's Don King at??!!

Given that we are approaching our first year, it is only right to highlight someone that has put in more than his share of years into the Hip Hop community.  When certain things come to mind a person's face could be attached to it.  Avon Barksdale to the dope game.  Turbo to break dancing.  MC Lil Mack to Hip Hop.

While the first two names are from classic movies or television series, MC Lil Mack is as real as they come, and very true to Hip Hop.  I met Lil Mack years ago searching for somewhere to perform.  I just moved from Kalamazoo and was experimenting with rhyming.  I had a group of performers from the Zoo, but really didn't know many people in Grand Rapids at the time.  I went out to Teazer's on a Tuesday night, chopped it up with Lil Mack, and two weeks later the whole team from the Zoo came down and rocked the entire night!!  That's love!!  What he did was something I hadn't experienced before.  He didn't care where we were from, just heard the music, and let us get down!!  That was one of my first live performances ever!!  The Roots of where the GoodLifeCampaign started to form!!

Long story short, life happens and I was away from the scene for about 1 1/2 years.  Once I was able to get out, Lil Mack was the first guy I came looking for.  Where did I find him??  At Teazer's djing for BattleMania.  No matter what goes on, you know that Lil Mack will be somewhere standing tall for Hip Hop in the city of Grand Rapids.  The Man is the definition of a true Hip Hop head!!  Whether sunshine or rain days, throughout all the good press or bad press for Hip Hop, one thing that you can count on is that he will be there standing tall for the Art.  The respect he is given around the city and beyond is because he has earned it, and no one can question his love for what he does. He has worked with damn near every artist in the area because he has been attached to shows for years.

MC Lil Mack lives, breathes, and eats Hip Hop!!  Be sure to check him out at a venue in the city!!

Below is the interview uncut with MC Lil Mack.  Enjoy!!

The Real McCoy!! GLC talks Entrepreneurship and Music with Moe Money McCoy

What's the deal GoodLife fam??  You know what it is over here, still at it, still grinding.  We are learning on the job, that's for sure!!

One man I felt helped give us a bit of an education is Moe Money McCoy.  If you have heard the name,  it could have came from several other lanes besides music.  I have seen him commentating boxing matches, performing at shows,  producing tv shows, you name it, he has done it.  A true entrepreneur understands risks and thrives because of it.  No matter what the venture, Moe goes hard in the paint like Charles Barkley in the 90's!!  He understands marketing and branding on a level most don't.

Whether you are an artist, business person, or someone looking to start a business, I suggest you contact Moe McCoy and have a conversation.  He is extremely approachable, and most importantly humble.  I'm making daily steps in my journey for the GoodLife, and Moe has a few tools that certainly help.

Check out the interview below!!

We look forward to working with Moe Money McCoy in the future with several different endeavors!!

Food and Liquor 2

Hello GoodLifers, it's been 5 years since Lupe Fiasco released his debut album Food and Liquor. On September 25th Lupe is back with Food and Liquor 2. Here is the first single off the new album "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)." Also look for the new single "Lamborghini Angels" which drops on August 14th

God Forgives, I Don't

Hello again GoodLifers, we are back with another album review. This week's album is Rick Ross God Forgive, I Don't. Sorry it took so long to review this album, but there were a few people telling me to listen to the album more, before I made my final decision. Rick Ross is back with his fourth album, and just like the other three the beats are hot! God Forgive, I Don't is filled with a lot of hot features, such as NaS, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, and Andre 3000, but with all the guest features does not make the album hot. I will admit, there are a few songs that I can rock with but each of those songs have a guest feature. Rick Ross has a few lines in a couple of songs, that left me scratching my head; like he had flow like Rakim and in five songs he reference that he's "court side at the Heat game." Not hating on this CD, I was just expecting it to be like the mixtape that was release earlier this year. Despite how I may feel about the album, find out for yourself and if you love it, more power to ya!

SHAVONNE MARIE. SEXY, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, FINE.

Ok GoodLifers welcome back. I want you all to meet Americas Next Top Model, and when I say that I mean this young lady by the name of Shavonne Marie has got the whole package. She is about her business, and on her way to the top. When you see her you will be mesmerized by her beauty, but that's not all she has. Lets see what this sexy, beautiful, gorgeous, fine, intelligent young lady had to say to the Campaign. ENJOY!

GLC: Ms. Shavonne Marie tell us where you from?

S.M.: Kalamazoo, MI

GLC: How did you get started in Modeling?

S.M.: When I was a little girl my father signed me up, he said he had a beautiful daughter.  When he passed my mother found the acceptance letter into modeling agency and told me not to think about it until I was finished with school. Once I'm close to finishing college- I decided to try it and see if it's something I'm good at and could get bookings.  Ever since, I have been doing what I LOVE.

GLC: What heights do you plan on taking your modeling to? What are your goals?

S.M.: I want to be able to model full time and be able to live very nice off of it.  I am in grad school as well so I do have a follow up plan.  I also act and host.  So staying relevant doing either of these while making some money and connections would be my dream.

GLC: What is your definition of a Good Life?

S.M.: Being happy- emotionally, physically, mentally, financially, healthy; family wise, love wise, and career wise.

GLC: Name 3 things that separate you from other model?

S.M.: Determination (networking, staying relevant), motivation (money and connections), Diversity (photo film, and changing it up- while still being me.

GLC: What do you think it takes to get to the next level, to be a supermodel?

S.M.: What I need to do to make sure I know I really tried to be on top is to move out of Kalamazoo.  I travel a lot, but I want to be able to go to more auditions, castings, network more.  I have been looking at Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.  God will show me the way.  I deserve it.

GLC: If you had $25 dollars and you had to get something to eat, drink, and something to listen to, what would they be?

S.M.: I would get  Chinese food to eat, drink Moscotto, and listen to slow R&B (preferably 90's R&B)

GLC: Single or Taken?

S.M.: Taken by my boyfriend Tyson, we have been together for 4 years.  He's my biggest supporter.  He is also a graphic designer; he does my comp cards, posters, flyers, business cards, etc...

GLC: Any up and coming events?

S.M.: I was just asked to do a shoot for Aspen Magazine in Atlanta.  And I am putting together a fashion show in August for a T-Shirt and Jewelry line.  I will be announcing a casting call soon.  I just got new management out in Chicago (shout out to JBoogie with Royalty ENT) who has been submitting my portfolio everywhere.  So there are a lot of good things coming my way.

GLC: Shout outs?

S.M.: All my fans, supporters, photographers, agents, managers, and promoters who help me and had faith in me along my journey.  God, my Father David Sr, Amandy, Alycia, David Jr, Tyson, Jrae, Lenny, Aaron White, Kristi Fitts, Madeline Zachary, Crystal, Ola, Slim, JBoogie, Greenvine Photography, GD Productions, Debbie, Alan Lee, Tanisha, CeCe, Isis, Sid the Rock, Greg and Gary.

To book Shavonne Marie go to:
shavonnemarie.webs.com  (my portfolio is on there for pictures, hosting , news, music videos, commercials, and more.  On the links page you can find the links for facebook, model mayhem, and twitter.)

Give it up for the beautiful woman from Kzoo MI doing her thing.  GoodLifeCampaign approved. Ms. Shavonne Marie is destined for greatness, and we want to congratulate her on her success and her future success also. You are witnessing a star in the making.

Life is Good!

Hello GoodLifers! This is the first of many album reviews that we are going to do. It only seems right to start it off right! This man needs no introduction, if you do not know who NaS is then you need to go pick up the Illmatic album. NaS is back with his 10th album and if this is the last NaS studio album, he has definitely went out on top. Life is Good takes you back to the Illmatic NaS, each songs reminds you of how great NaS really is. He takes you into his life with songs like 'Daughters' and 'Bye Baby' which are about his daughter and his failed marriage to Kelis. The 'Summer on Smash' is a banger, and should be played for the rest of the summer and of course my personal favorite 'Back When.' NaS has brought hip hop back (again) letting all the new young rappers, that he is still the Don of this hip hop shit. Unless Jay,Em, and Ye are about to put out a super Watch the Throne album in the next 6 months, I don't see any album coming close to this Life is Good. Hip Hop Album of the Year perhaps?! Escobar season have returned

Cecelia Hughes Doing Big Things

What up GoodLifers. I bring to you today what we call a beautiful strong women by the name of Cecelia Hughes. This Muskeegon Michigan native is doing some big things in her community, she loves fashion, and modeling, but what we found out is she has a entrepreneur spirit. Lets see what the young lady with swagg had to tell us.

GLC: What made you absolutely want to start modeling?

CECE: I feel it has always been in me to model, I would always get compliments from people telling me I was pretty, and I have long pretty legs like a model, since I was a child on up, but honestly I did not believe them until I turned around 17 where I learned to appreciate my beauty, I  always thought I was cute but not beautiful.. until later lol..  my wonderful husband always tells me I'm beautiful, and supports what I do, but I was so thankful when I was approached and given the opportunity by a local designer in 2005, who first helped me share my passion with the world by modeling in a few of her shows and it felt so good to finally be able to share with the world what I used to only imagine doing, come to reality. I later started to create and coordinate my own shows in Aug of 2009 when I was approached to do my very own first Fashion Show at Pere Marquette Beach, and I've been doing my own Fashion Shows at least 2-3 times per year since then.

GLC: What inspires you for fashion and modeling?

CECE: I love to play with different clothing, mixing and matching colors together, shoes, jewelry, etc. I love Ripping The Runway, an adrenaline rush comes over me and I feel somewhat a sense of power, beauty power I guess u could say hahaha,  what inspires me the most is the positive feedback, and reaction I always get from my supporters and fans, they give me energy, they are one of the main reasons and my motivation to continue to fulfill my dreams in the fashion world :).

GLC: Who are some of your role models?

CECE: God first, My 2 lovely children, they are my world :) My mom who is now deceased rest her soul, and my dad.  I also look up to my older siblings. they are all very successful, I'm the baby of the family so I am trying to get up there financially and  hopefully be as successful or more successful than them *wink*

GLC: If you had 25 dollars and had to get something to eat, drink and listen to, what would they be?

CECE: lol hmm let's see since my budget is tight, I would buy a Q'doba Chicken Wrap,
and a Green Tea, I would listen to some Mary J. and some other old school music.

GLC: When and where can we see you rip the runway?

CECE: You can see me and the rest of my beautiful models RIP THE RUNWAY  in The Muskegon's Multi-Cultural Hawaiian Tropics Fashion Show part of a Non Profit Organization,  Aug. 18th, from 8:30pm-10pm at Pere Marquette Beach 1601 Beach st. Muskegon Mi. 49441, Be There!! We are going to put on a show!

GLC: What are your long term goals?

CECE: One of my long term goals is to hopefully own my own legit modeling agency and teach models free of charge how to get started like I did, I never want to be like some of the other agencies out there they make money off of models but not help the models make money.

GLC: What are your feelings on the new age of modeling w/social media and things of that nature now? Do you feel like its easier to be a model or is it harder?

CECE: I feel like it's somewhat easier,  I could write a whole book on this topic...lol but we just have to be careful not to say yes to everything, some people will  just try to get you to take off all of your clothes for every pic, and to me modeling is more than showing everything in every pic, don't get me wrong I've done swimsuit shoots before with taste but never did I  feel compelled to only show too much skin in every photo, to be considered sexy, I want to be a role model to the younger generation and show them that you can still get very far with class.

 GLC: Shout outs?

CECE: Shout to every single person who believes in me,  my husband and 2 beautiful children who I love every much,  and continues to support me, and to my mom and dad for making me :)

GLC: Any up and coming events you have and where can ppl go to find out about you and other things you have going on?

CECE: Yes:) you can see me and the rest of my beautiful models RIP THE RUNWAY at The Muskegon's Multi-Cultural Hawaiian Tropics Fashion Show part of a Non Profit Organization,  Aug. 18th, from 8:30pm-10pm at Pere Marquette Beach 1601 Beach st. Muskegon Mi. 49441, Be There we are going to put on a show!

There you have it. Campaigning for a good life, is what we are all about. Make sure you go check out the fashion show on Aug, 18th. Ms. Cecelia Hughes is on her way to the top, and she is what we call a go getter. GoodLifeCampaign approved.

It's Yodie B*tches!!! GLC Chills Out with Yodie

What's the deal GoodLife fam??  Same thing, different day out this way.  Continuing to live this GoodLife.  Loving everything that comes along with that.

A few weeks back we had the opportunity to sit down with Yodie, an exciting, versatile artist out of Grand Rapids, MI.  If you have the opportunity to watch her perform, make it a priority!!  Although she is fairly new to the hip hop scene, she has made excellent use of the little time she has been in the game, staying busy recording tracks with just about everyone.  Another great thing about Yodie is I have seen her perform/and support at damn near every hip hop event in the area.

Yodie apologizes for absolutely nothing!!  She is proud, borderline cocky, but in this game, you have to be.  We usually don't see this type of approach from female artists, but Yodie isn't just a female artist.

Check out the Interview below and make sure to check out the videos!!

GLC: What is your definition of the GoodLife?

Yodie: Being comfortable.  Not to have to worry about the bills.  The ability to not live paycheck to paycheck and to give my kids whatever they want.

GLC:  When was the first time you wrote a 16??

Yodie:  2010.  During a night of drinking my nephew dared me to rap and I did it.  I posted the video on Facebook and people liked it.  I've been at it ever since then.

GLC:  The GLC $20 Question!!!  You have $20 and you need to get something to eat, something to drink, and an album to listen to, what would they be???

Yodie:  Being that I have kids I'm a dollar menu freak, so something to eat would be off that.  Something to drink, hell a Frappe from McDonald's too!!  The album I would pick up to listen to would have to be Jay-Z American Gangster.

GLC:  What are your short term goals in Hip Hop?

Yodie:  To really breakthrough!!  It's to the point where people know about me, but I want to be KNOWN you know?!  Really getting my foot in the door nationally.

GLC: What are some steps you are taking to achieve that goal?

Yodie: Promotion is everything!!  As you already know, I don't spend a lot of time posting things on the Internet.  What I like to do is get out and perform EVERYWHERE!!  That's how they used to do it back in the chittlin circuit days, so I've been grinding that way too!

GLC:  Where are some places you have performed outside of Grand Rapids??

Yodie:  Chicago IL, Atlanta GA, Detroit, Flint , Muskegon, Kalamazoo, basically everywhere in Michigan.  By the end of the summer I will be adding St. Louis, Missouri to my list of cities also.  There is already something in the works there.

GLC:  Who would be a dream collaboration for Yodie??

Yodie:  Jay-Z of course!!  I would love to do something with Jay-Z.  But other than Jay-Z, Missy Elliot and Queen Latifah would be my dream collaborations.

GLC:  How do you feel about the role of the female MC in today's Hip Hop landscape??  And with that where do you see yourself carving out your lane, or place?

Yodie:  I honestly feel like that as women in Hip Hop tries to put us all in a certain category.  Put us all in our place so to speak.  I have no place.  I have no lane!!  I'm freeballin', I'm gonna do whatever I want, when I want to!!

This is just bits and parts of the interview!!  Check out the uncut audio below!!!

07/07/11 Never Forget!

Hello GoodLifers, we come to you today with our hearts heavy and our minds wondering why. Today is the one year anniversary of the tragic shooting that left eight people dead and two wounded. This tragedy rocked our city to it's core, and we are still searching for answers to why this had to happen. Rodrick Dantzler, took the lives of seven innocent people including his wife and daughter. This situation hits us here at GoodLife hard, because of the people that were involved in this horrific tragedy, and we just want them and their families to know that they are always in our hearts and on our minds. Lets all say a prayer for the lives that were lost that hot summer day on July 7, 2011, and never forget any of the people that lost their lives that day. R.I.P Kimberlee, Amanda, and Marrissa Emkens. R.I.P Thomas, Rebecca, Jennifer, and Kamrie Heeren. R.I.P Rodrick Dantzler, we do not condone anything that you did but here at GoodLife we are fair. Let's bring awareness to mental illness, it is very serious and should not go unnoticed. GLC

Eazy Money!! UnCut and Unfiltered!!

What's up GoodLife fam??  We are still out here grinding, living this GoodLife!!  Have to say it has been a pleasure getting out into the various hip hop communities and chopping it up with the artists.  We have received nothing but love from everyone we have come into contact with.  This Campaign is only going to get bigger as we go.  Be on the Lookout for some new and exciting things.

Starting with this interview!!!  While walking into the Lower Level on a Thursday, the plan was to see what artists were there, and to see how good would the talent be.  I like a great live performance.  Almost anybody can sound great in the studio, but what do you bring to the table as an MC??  Can you keep the crowd??  Are you articulate with rhymes??  How is the delivery and cadence??  These are things we look at in a successful live performance.  It shows that you take pride in your craft, and want to deliver a great performance to the audience.
Two performers really separated from the rest that night.  One was Yodie, who I first seen perform at BattleMania awhile back.  She is always somebody I'd suggest you check out live.  The other was this guy named Eazy Money.  When he jumped on the stage, I admit I wasn't sure what to expect.  But that's the beauty of hip hop, it has no mold.  Easy got on stage and commanded the crowd's attention.  His delivery was on point, and lyrically he stood tall!!

A few weeks later we got a chance to sit down with Eazy Money and see what he has been up to, and get a bit of his story.  Here is the interview in a format you haven't seen from the GoodLifeCampaign yet!!  Enjoy!!

The Fight Game.... It's All Love!! Get to Know J'Leon Love

What's up GoodLife fam??  You know what it is out this way, just trying to live this GoodLife the best way we know possible.  Our most recent journey on our Campaign sh*t lead us to Las Vegas, Cinco De Mayo weekend.  This was also the same weekend of the Floyd Mayweather-Miguel Cotto fight, so the atmosphere was crazy.  If you don't listen to anything else I recommend, make sure you put watching a major world title fight in Vegas on your bucket list.  Whether you are a boxing fan or not, there isn't a much better vacation.

While in Vegas, we were given the opportunity to sit down with a guy that has been referred to as the future of boxing.  J'Leon Love is a 24 year old middleweight prospect from Detroit, Michigan that proudly holds down the state wherever he is.  Love was the chief sparring partner for Floyd Mayweather for the Cotto fight, all while preparing for his own fight which took place a few weeks before, ending in a third round KO to remain undefeated.  J'Leon not only has started making a name for himself as a boxer, but he is also make a few waves in the modeling field.  I'd say being the feature male model alongside Kate Moss is a pretty big deal.  He is showing everything so far in his young career that could potentially make him a huge crossover star in the world of boxing.  Hard worker, Heavy Handed, Charismatic, and a great smile to pull in the female crowd.

We sat down with J'Leon just a few hours before the big fight between Floyd and Miguel Cotto.  Here's what he had to say!!

GLC: What's your definition of the GoodLife??

J'Leon Love: Staying blessed, staying positive, moving forward toward every dream and aspiration that you have.  We could touch on so many different things, but basically keeping God first and following any dream you may have.

GLC: What brought J'Leon Love to the sport of boxing?

J'Leon Love: Growing up in Detroit, it's rough.  Everybody knows how to fight in Detroit.  Whether it's fighting to feed their families, fighting for work, or doing whatever they need to.  Fighting was something that came very natural to me.  I saw boxing on the television, it was actually the Navy and the Army fight in the amateur tournament, and I fell in love with it.  I just thought "I can handle that, I can do that", and it took off from there.

GLC:  Were there any other sports that you participated in outside of boxing?  You hoop at all?

J'Leon Love:  I played basketball.  I played football.  I even played soccer and tried out hockey for a bit.  I'm an athlete, and when I was young I basically tried everything I saw.  Skateboarding, whatever was going on I wanted to experience it.  But boxing man, it was something different.  When I actually laced up the gloves, and saw that "one on one", its just me and one other person, I was like "yeah this is it!!"  I really felt in my heart that I could be really good at this.

GLC:  It's truly a fact that the majority of people really don't understand about the sport of boxing.  So what are a few things that you can reveal to casual fans to help expand their knowledge on the "sweet science"?

J'Leon Love:  That it really is a science.  It's an art.  A lot of people think that we all come from bad backgrounds and bad neighborhoods.  But you have a lot of fighters that come from blue collar backgrounds, great parents, great neighborhoods, and they are some of the best fighters in the world.  I hate when people try to put ALL fighters into the same box.  The want to associate us all as to having anger issues or some type of problems.  Truth is while I grew up in a pretty tough neighborhood, I had GREAT parenting.  I have a GREAT family.  The art of boxing just happened to be an incredible gift that God has given me.

GLC:  You have just started your professional career so to speak, currently 11-0 with 7 knockouts, so it's safe to say things are starting in an incredible fashion!  In this short period of time, who are some people that you've had a chance to work with in your career thus far?

J'Leon Love:  I've had the opportunity to be around Tommy Hearns as he was moving around the gym.  Milton McCrory, and all the other greats from Detroit that helped pave the way for guys like me.  Just being in that atmosphere you come across so many great fighters.  Antonio Margarito, now Floyd Mayweather, even Miguel Cotto.  So many different fighters, there are so many I could name.

GLC:  As you were growing up and learning the sport of boxing, who was a fighter that you chose to emulate or look up to?

J'Leon Love: My favorite fighter was Marvin Hagler.  "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler was straight up dynamite!  He would fight you in your backyard, in a phone booth, anywhere, it really didn't matter.  That was why he was one of my favorite fighters.  He really didn't care about all the details.  He just loved the sport and wanted to give the fans what they came to see.  A great show.

GLC:  Here at the GoodLifeCampaign, we try to touch on everything that has to do with living good, but we certainly tend to focus a lot on music.  Who are some artists that you listen to in your spare time or in a training camp?

J'Leon Love:  The Whole MMG crew is hot!!  You got the YMCMB crew that's really doin their thing too.  There is a lot of artists I enjoy hearing.  I really like my man Meek Mills though.  I've been watching him grind for a minute now with the YouTube videos and such.  I feel like he is bringing that fresh, hungry sound back that Hip Hop needs.  I love it all though.  I'm very versatile musically.  Hip Hop, R&B, everything.  Being out here in Vegas, I've even ran into some of that fist pumping music that I can get into sometimes.  Any type of music that can get me hype I'll listen to.

GLC: So, J'Leon, you have $20 and you need to get something to eat, drink, and something to listen to.  What would it be??

J'Leon Love:  (Laughing) Man, Always, Always... Now this is a Michigan thing that a lot of people here out west know about.  Always a Faygo!!  The Faygo pop with the Better Made chips to go with it!!  The album would be the Jay-Z Blueprint Album.  That album was raw!!  That was one of my joints right there man!!

GLC:  What year did you start your pro career?

J'Leon Love:  2010 was the year of my pro debut.

GLC: With that being said, where do you see your career headed in say the next 3-5 years??

J'Leon Love:  Man, I feel like me and my team will be running the sport of boxing by then.  I feel like me being around Floyd Mayweather, one of the best in the game, learning and watching everything he's doing has been tremendous.  This guy is a great fighter and a great guy outside of the ring.  A lot of people take the image they see on TV and go off of that, but he is truly a great guy.  In God's plan, in the next 3-5 years I 'm definitely gonna be running the game!  The best Pound for Pound Middleweight Champion of the World!!  A household name reppin Detroit, Michigan to the fullest!!  A lot of people say the city of Detroit is doing bad, but there is a lot of talent still there, ready to bring the city back up.  My goal is to expose that.

GLC:  So what you are saying is J'Leon Love is ready to put the city of Detroit, the State of Michigan on his back huh?!

J'Leon Love:  Most definitely!!  I Love Detroit!!  Every city!! Inkster, Romulus, all that!!  I'm gonna hold it down!!

I wanna take this time to thank J'Leon again for the interview, and to thank all of you that continue to support those following their dreams.  I plan on being ringside to watch J'Leon capture the world middleweight title in the near future.  I hope a few more of you will be joining me on that trip!!
